FEAR STRIKES OGUN COMMUNITIES AS MYSTERY KILLER HACKS SIX TO DEATH
Panic struck residents of Remo and other surrounding communities of Ogun state following the hacking to death of six persons by an unidentified person suspected to be a drug addict.
Some residential areas of Ogun state; Ogere, Ilisan, Iperu - Remo, and communities in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun state are presently in fear of the mystery suspect,who allegedly stalk his victims with a cutlass and kill them.
Earlier, the mystery killer was said to have killed two private guards working at an animal care firm based in Ogere Remo, an elderly Togolese on Thursday, and another boy in Ogere on Friday night.
The killer was alleged to have also killed three passers-by on Saturday, at Iperu Remo.
Residents of the affected areas have cried out to the police to launch a manhunt to catch the culprit, even as they remain indoor amid coronavirus lockdown order.
According to the report by a resident of Ogere who begged to be anonymous, the suspected killer could be a cultist and drug addict who once lived in the community.
The anonymous resident disclosed that the suspect used to be a patient at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta but fled the facility and returned to Ogere to terrorize the residents.
The Ogun state police confirmed that they are aware that someone was attaked with a machete and the victim had been taken to the Teaching Hospital of Babcock University, Ilisan.
However,the police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the force has not yet received information that anybody hacked was to death.
Nevertheless, an investigation is ongoing to get to the root of the matter.
