Federal High Court Orders Police to Maintain Status Quo in Tinted Glass Dispute

The Federal High Court sitting in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing case over the controversial tinted glass permit.

The matter, filed as Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, came up for hearing today.

In its interim ruling, the Court directed the police authorities to respect judicial processes until further proceedings are concluded.

Confirming the development, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kunle Edun, who led the legal team, described the directive as a significant move toward upholding the rule of law while the substantive issues in the case are determined.

Details of the judgment and the next adjourned date are expected in the coming days.
