FG COMMENCES N30,000 GRANTS TO UBER DRIVERS, KEKE NAPEP RIDERS
The Federal Government has commenced the payment of N30,000 grants for Uber drivers, keke napep riders, Bolt drivers and other transporters in the country.
This was announced on Sunday, December 6, by Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to President Buhari on Media, via his official Twitter handle.
The grant serves as a measure to support those affected by COVID-19 pandemic under its economic sustainability plan (ESP).
"The Federal Government has commenced N30,000 grants for taxi, bus, okada, Keke Napep, Uber, Bolt drivers and cart pushers across the country, this is in furtherance of its commitment to support small businesses to cushion the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic," Ahmad tweeted.
The funds are being disbursed under the Federal Government’s micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) survival fund scheme for artisans and transporters.
The Federal Government urged all interested parties to apply through their registered associations, such as the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Keke Riders’ Association, and the Okada Riders’ Association.
