GOVERNOR FAYEMI APPOINTS 40-YEAR OLD AKIN OYEBODE AS THE STATE’S COMMISSIONER FOR FINANCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has appointed 40-year old Akintunde Oyebode as his Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Buhari on New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, congratulated him via his official Twitter handle.

40-year-old Oyebode served as Fayemi's Special Adviser on Investment, Trade and Innovation before his elevation to the commissioner portfolio.

Oyebode joins a growing trend in Nigeria's southwest region where State Governors are beginning to trust younger persons with high profile positions in government.

In 2019, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, appointed 27-year-old Seun Fakorede as his Commissioner for Youth and Sports.

Also the Commissioner for Finance in Lagos state, Rabiu Olowo, is 35-years-old.

Oyebode has been touted by many as a future Governor of Ekiti State for his capacity and competence.
