Gunmen Hijack Benue Links Bus, Abduct all Passengers in Okpokwu
Armed criminals have abducted passengers travelling in a commercial bus operated by Benue Links Transport Company along the Otukpo–Otukpa Road in Okpokwu Local Government Area.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday when the attackers ambushed the fully-loaded vehicle near Eke community. The assailants reportedly dispossessed all passengers of their valuables before forcing them into the nearby bush.
Eyewitnesses said the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Comrade Austin Agada, arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and promptly notified security operatives.
A combined team of security personnel has since launched search and rescue operations in the area to locate the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
