GUNMEN SHOOT POLICEMAN ALONG AUCHI-IGARRA ROAD
Eons Intelligence have gathered that a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was shot by gunmen suspected to be Kidnappers along the Auchi-Igarrra road, Edo State.
The victim, identified as Mr Suleiman Muhammed, is a security operative attached to the Igarra Police Station, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, of Edo State.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday around 7pm. Sources say it took the intervention of Local Vigilantes in the area to rescue the injured security personnel and evacuate him to the hospital.
Eons Intelligence gathered that his assailants, who were heavily armed with AK-47 rifles, ambushed him, shot him multiple times from close range, and fled. The shooting led to commuters being stranded for a long time before the intervention of Vigilantes.
Sources say the DPO was shot in the eyes, arm, and stomach. The victim is now receiving treatment at the Irrua Specialist Hospital.
