IGP DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED DIGs
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, on Monday 20th February 2023, decorated three newly promoted Deputy Inspectors-General of Police in his office at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja. This is coming on the heels of the recently released promotions by the Police Service Commission, in which the three officers’ recommendation by the IGP was approved by the Commission. The DIGs are DIG Ali Aji Janga, psc, mni, in charge of the Department of Research and Planning, DIG Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, mni, in charge of the Department of Training and Development, and DIG Adeleke Yinka Bode, mni, in charge of the Department of Operations.
DIG Ali Janga holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Maiduguri. A Member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, he has attended several professional courses/workshops. He has held several strategic positions in the past. These include Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force (PMF); AIG Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT); AIG Zone 10 Sokoto; Commissioner in charge of the Police Mobile Force, Federal Operations, and Kogi Command amongst others.
DIG Hafiz Inuwa, who is the immediate past Assistant Inspector-General of Police Force Secretary, has previously served as the pioneer AIG in charge of Zone-13 Ukpo — Dunukofia in Awka, Anambra State, covering Anambra and Enugu State Police Commands, Commissioner of Police in charge of Delta and Cross River States, amongst other strategic positions. He is a member of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, Jos.
DIG Adeleke Bode was the immediate past Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos comprising Lagos and Ogun States. He has served as the AIG in charge of the Zone 9 Police Command comprising, Abia, Imo, and Ebonyi States. He had earlier served as the Commissioner of Police in Delta state and Kebbi state. DIG Bode is a graduate of Law from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State. He also holds a degree in Education from Lagos State University (LASU).
Similarly, in line with his mandate to ensure professional training as a key to the manpower development of the Force, the IGP has declared open a one-day seminar to provide requisite skills for the management of electoral violence for Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Operations across the Zonal and State Police Commands nationwide, and their counterparts in other security agencies at the International Conference Centre, Abuja
The Inspector-General of Police has charged the senior officers to work ardently in entrenching compliance with the police reform agenda of the President.
