IGP ORDERS REDEPLOYMENT OF RIVERS CP
The Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, on Friday evening ordered the immediate redeployment of Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Dandaura Mustapha.
This was contained in a statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba.
Mustapha is replaced by Joseph Gobum Mukari, according to the statement.
The posting takes immediate effect.
This however, may not be unconnected with the ongoing face-off between the state Governor, Nyesom Wike and the Federal Government over the arrest and remand of Oil workers in the state. The latest in this squabble is the arrest of 22 Exxon Mobil staff who travelled into the state from Eket in Akwa-Ibom State.
The involvement on the CP in this melodrama may have earned him this redeployment.
This will definitely not be the end on this matter.
Details later...
