MAJ. GEN. SAWYER URGES MEDIA TO STOP GIVING PUBLICITY TO CRIMINALS
Media operators in the country have been urged to avoid sensational headlines that give publicity to criminals undermining national security.
The newly-decorated Defence Spokesperson, Major General Olufemi Sawyer said the support of the media and citizens are needed for all the military operations in order to surmount the nation’s various security challenges.

However, He promised to foster professionally Armed Forces capable of effectively meeting constitutional operative, as his task and responsibility as Director of Defence Information, DDI, are to project the image of the military apparatus.
“It’s indeed the clarion call and rare opportunity to contribute my quota as the new image maker and mouthpiece of the Armed Forces of Nigeria towards the realization of leadership focus of the Chief of Defence Staff.
“I will continue to work round the clock in surmounting the nation’s numerous security challenges which include terrorism, oil bunkering, insurgency, militancy, kidnapping, banditry among others.”
He has a positive mindset regarding the fact that various security challenges will in no time be a thing of the past judging from the possible feelers emanating from the theatres of operation.
He went further to appreciate the Chief of Defence Staff and the Army Chief for his appointment as the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
