Police Deploy Anti-Bomb Squad to Investigate Explosion in Imo State Community
The Imo State Police Command has deployed its anti-bomb squad to investigate an explosion in Umuneke Community, Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident on Monday, following the explosion that occurred on Sunday.
The blast, which reduced a newly completed family home to rubble, sparked widespread fear among residents. However, no casualties were reported.
Speaking to Channels TV, Okoye stated that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion. He added that the Deputy Commissioner of Police, along with the Anti-Bomb Squad, had visited the scene to ensure there were no remaining explosives in the area.
Okoye reassured the public that the police are committed to identifying those responsible for the explosion and ensuring they face justice.
He urged residents to go about their daily activities without fear, emphasizing that the police are working tirelessly to maintain security in the community.
