POLICE PARADES KIDNAPPERS OF TAOFEEK AKEUGBAGOLD’S TWINS
The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command today paraded seven suspects who were involved in the kidnap of Islamic scholar, Alhaji Taofeek Akeugbagold's twin toddlers in Ibadan.
The suspects, 6 men and a woman, were paraded at the police headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan by the Commissioner of police in Oyo State, Mr Shina Olukolu.
Two of the suspects Bashir Mohammed and Opeyemi Oyeleye were members of staff of the Islamic scholar.
Bashir told reporters that he planned the kidnap to gather some money to take care of his needs.
After successfully kidnapping Akeugbagold’s twin children,, Bashir said he demanded fifty million but got four million naira instead.
Reacting, Alhaji Akeugbagold said he was shocked that both Bashir Mohammed and Opeyemi Oyeleye carried out the dastardly act despite the cordial relationship he had with them.
Parading the suspects, Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Shina Olukolu said the arrest was made possible through the support of some members of the public.
