MILITARY COMMANDER RELOCATES OFFICE TO TROUBLED AREA IN PLATEAU STATE
The recently assumed Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (COPSH) and General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar has relocated his office to the troubled area of the state in a quest for normalcy restoration in Sabon Gari, Mangu LGA, Plateau State.
General Abdulsalami assumed command on 8th July 2023 as the COPSH and GOC 3 Div NA, and made his visitation to the incessant troubled area on 9th July 2023, to have an on-the-ground assessment of the situation and proffer immediate solution to the lingering crisis.
This was done as one of his agendas to restore adequate peace to the Plateau by every legitimate means possible.
Consequently, on his visit, he led an operation that resulted in the successful recovery of five fabricated AK-47 rifles, 19 rounds 7.62mm special and 4 rounds of 7.62 mm Nato from the two communities involved in several attacks of bandits.
Also, Major General led the enforcement of the 24-hour curfew imposed on Mangu LGA by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Mutfwang as a process of giving security forces room to restore law and order in the affected communities. Thereupon, about 36 individuals were arrested over defaulting the curfew. He sounded a note of warning to them and released them freely.
