NAF Airstrike Hits Sambisa Hideouts, Eliminates Terrorists, Destroys Logistics Bases
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has intensified its offensive against insurgent elements in the North-East, conducting a precision airstrike that eliminated several terrorists in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest.
The operation, carried out on April 19, 2026, followed credible intelligence supported by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which confirmed the presence of terrorists occupying fortified structures and bunkers within the area.
NAF air assets subsequently engaged the targets using precision-guided munitions, destroying the structures, neutralising multiple fighters, and degrading key logistics facilities. Post-strike Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the success of the mission.
Military authorities noted that the sustained air campaign continues to weaken terrorist networks, disrupt their operations, and force them into reactive movements under increasing pressure.
Reaffirming the Service’s commitment, the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, stated that the Nigerian Air Force will maintain relentless, intelligence-driven operations until terrorist elements are completely neutralised.
He added that the NAF remains committed to safeguarding personnel, protecting national security, and ensuring the safety of civilians, while adhering strictly to rules of engagement and minimising collateral damage.
The Air Force is expected to sustain intensified precision strikes across the theatre as part of ongoing efforts to restore security in the region.
