NAF Airstrikes Destroy Terrorist Hideout, Disrupt Logistics in Lake Chad Basin
On November 23, 2024, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) launched a decisive airstrike against terrorist elements in Jubillaram, a key hideout in the Tumbuns area of the Lake Chad Basin. The area, identified as a critical food storage hub and a refuge for commanders and fighters, had been linked to recent attacks, including the November 16 assault on troops in Kareto.
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets executed precision strikes, destroying storage facilities and eliminating terrorists on-site. Mop-up operations with cannons ensured no escape for fleeing insurgents. The operation was guided by detailed Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that confirmed the presence of camouflaged structures.
The airstrike significantly disrupted the terrorists’ logistics and diminished their operational capacity. The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation through sustained independent and joint counterterrorism operations aimed at eradicating all threats to Nigeria’s security and prosperity.
