NAF AIRSTRIKES KILL SEVERAL BANDITS IN CHIKWALE FOREST

 


The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed several armed bandits at Chikwale Forest in the Mangoro area of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.


The successful operation was carried out  on January 23 by Operation Thunder Strike after credible intelligence revealed the assailants' presence in the region.


After series of confirmatory aerial surveillance missions, the Air Component deployed appropriate fighter jets and helicopter gunships to attack the location. 


It was gathered that the bandits were spotted on motorcycles and dressed in black attire, heading towards Niger State.

During the encounter, the NAF engaged the bandits, who were seen firing at the attack helicopter as it approached them.


Several bandits were killed from the air strikes, while some escaped with various degrees of injuries.


The Nigerian military has recorded applaudable success recently as it has dealt decisively with criminal elements in the country, especially in the North Eastern region.


In an airstrike operation conducted by the NAF on January 6, several Boko Haram terrorist hideouts housing high- value Jihadists in Alagarno, Sambisa forest were taken out.


Similarly, the Nigerian Army on Saturday January 9 killed about 28 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered several ammunition in Gujba village, Yobe State, also in the North Eastern region of the country.
