Bishop Kukah, an outspoken government critic has fled sokoto state due to the ongoing violence.
Current reports, videos and pictures shared online pictured st.Bahkita which serves as the Secretariat to the diocese set ablaze by angry mobs. When contacted, Bishop Kukah said that he was on his way out of sokoto, it was earlier learnt that the police fired teargass on the protesters to chase them out of the church environs,but the angry mob regrouped after the police van have left the neighborhood according to an eyewitness. Sequel to the violence demonstrated by this angry Mobs, governor Aminu Tambuwal of sokoto state have imposed a curfew to bring the situation under control.
