NAF KILLS SEVERAL BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS, DESTROYS GUN TRUCKS IN BORNO

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed scores of Boko Haram insurgents and destroyed at least three of their gun trucks at Mainok in Borno State, the North Eastern region of the country.

The Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE launched the attack on Tuesday, January 12, following intelligence reports indicating that the assailants in several gun trucks were traversing the Jakana-Mainok axis of the State.

Subsequently, the NAF deployed its helicopter gunships to engage the convoy of Boko Haram gun trucks and logistics vehicles.

The helicopters delivered accurate hits in the target area, resulting in the killing of several Insurgents and destruction of three vehicles.

The successful operation was conducted barely 48 hours after at least 5 soldiers lost their lives during a Boko Haram attack at Harbour Area Kafa in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

However, at least 6 Boko Haram terrorists were also killed and several escaped with gunshot wounds in the attack.

The Nigerian military has recorded applaudable success recently as it has dealt decisively with criminal elements in the country, especially in the North Eastern region.

In an airstrike operation conducted by the NAF on January 6, several Boko Haram terrorist hideouts housing high- value Jihadists in Alagarno, Sambisa forest were taken out.
