NAF Launches Probe into Alleged Civilian Casualties After Jilli Airstrike

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has initiated an investigation into reports alleging that its airstrike conducted on April 11, 2026, in Jilli may have resulted in civilian casualties.


In a statement, the Air Force said it takes all allegations of civilian harm with utmost seriousness, emphasizing that the protection of innocent lives remains a core priority in its operations.


To ascertain the facts, the Chief of the Air Staff has directed the immediate deployment of the Civilian Harm Accident and Investigation Cell (CHAI-Cell) to the affected area for a detailed fact-finding mission.


The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and transparency, noting that it will collaborate with relevant authorities and community representatives during the investigation process.


While the probe is ongoing, the Air Force urged the public and media to avoid speculation and allow the process to proceed without interference.


It also reassured citizens of its continued resolve to balance national security operations with the protection of civilian lives, adding that all credible concerns will be thoroughly examined.
