NDDC CORRUPTION: POLICE INVADE JOY NUNIEH’S RESIDENCE

Men of the Nigerian police force have invaded the residence of Joy Nunieh, former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).


The security agents arrived at her residence on Thursday, July 16th, 2020,  located at 3, Owuru Creek view, off Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.


This comes after Joy Nunieh appeared before the National Assembly in Abuja, investigating the activities of the NDDC.


Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio and Joy Nunieh had appeared before the senate ad hoc panel investigating the alleged mismanagement of N40 billion by the interim management committee (IMC) of the NDDC.


At the panel hearing, Akpabio said he did not know the expenditure of the NDDC under Nunieh because she refused to brief him of events during her tenure as Acting MD.


But Nunieh said the minister engineered her removal for failing to partake in corruption.

Recall that on July 11th ,the ex-NDDC MD o made several allegations against the Minister.


She accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, budget padding, fraud, among others.


The former Acting MD also revealed Akpabio awarded 30 contracts before she became the commission’s acting MD.


The Minister responded on July 13th, 2020, and said the former Acting MD lacks Character and revealed her educational deficiencies.


Also, on Tuesday, July 14th, 2020, the Rivers State Government had warned that no harm must befall Nunieh, who it described as its daughter.

Reports indicate that Governor Wike and Dr Joy Nunieh are on their way to the Government house in Port Harcourt.
