Nigeria-India Relations Boosted: PM Modi's Historic Visit Yields Positive Results.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic visit to Nigeria on Sunday marked a significant milestone in India-Nigeria relations, being the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 17 years. Modi met with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja to bolster their partnership across trade, investment, and digital public infrastructure ¹. Their discussions centered on fortifying economic collaboration, aiming to expand the existing $11.8 billion bilateral trade recorded in 2022-23.


The two leaders sought to strengthen ties in key sectors, including defense, healthcare, food security, and energy. Modi's three-nation tour will also take him to Brazil for the G20 Summit to address pressing global economic and geopolitical challenges, followed by a visit to Guyana ¹.
