NSCDC Arrests 20 Suspects for Kidnapping, Terrorism, Vandalism and Fraud, Recovers Arms and Ammunition
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS) has arrested 20 suspects linked to kidnapping, terrorism, vandalism, armed robbery, and other related crimes across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Ondo States.
The arrests, which were made between October and November 2025, followed the directive of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, to intensify intelligence-led operations and clamp down on high-profile criminal syndicates nationwide.
The Commander of the CG’s SIS, AS Dandaura (JP), disclosed that the suspects were apprehended for various offences, including kidnapping, murder, vandalism of public infrastructure, obtaining by false pretence, and armed robbery. He noted that two of the suspects were identified as terrorist and militia members linked to recent communal attacks, while five others were major receivers of stolen items.
Recovered items from the operations include two AK-47 rifles, two G3 rifles (recovered in Ondo State), sixty-five rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, one Toyota Corolla LE 2010 model, four stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, electronics, charms, and cash.
According to the squad, two key suspects, Ibrahim Hudu (30) and Hassan Ibrahim (23), were arrested in Nasarawa for their involvement in multiple kidnappings and murders. They confessed to killing two victims — Mr. Obasanjo H. Aku along the Lafia–Akwanga road and Mr. Muhammadu Yaka, a farmer in Nasarawa Eggon — after collecting ransom payments. Investigations also linked Hassan Ibrahim to militia attacks in Yelwata (Benue State) and Qua’an-Pan (Plateau State).
Three other suspects — Bamaiyi Mustapha (aka Dan Borno), John Ishaya (aka Baushe), and James Bako (aka Muchake) — were arrested for highway robbery and attempted kidnapping of prominent individuals in Nasarawa State. The gang was also linked to several armed robbery operations along Lambata–Kogi–Kaduna and Akwanga–Niger highways, and was reportedly involved in cattle rustling.
In Ondo State, the squad arrested Iseoluwa Shadrach Omosehin (27) and recovered two G3 rifles with serial numbers 6911856 and 69047064. Similarly, in Nasarawa, Nyitamen George (34) was apprehended for illegally connecting and diverting electricity payments, while Muhammad Aliyu (aka Aliko, 23) was arrested for vandalism, assault, and grievous harm.
The NSCDC also arrested five suspects for receiving and reselling stolen properties, including a stolen vehicle, motorcycles, phones, and electronics.
Commandant Dandaura reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to rid the nation of criminal elements, stating that the arrests reflect the NSCDC’s dedication to safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
He assured that all suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations and urged Nigerians to continue providing actionable intelligence to security agencies to support the ongoing fight against crime.
