OGUN TRANSPORT UNION CLASH OVER REVENUE COLLECTION FOR GOVERNMENT
The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Ogun State Parks and Garages Management Board (OGSPAM) engaged each other in a clash over the transport revenue collection which is meant for the Ogun State government.
The clash cut across the major motor parks; Kuto, Lafenwa, Brewery, Ita Oshin, and Obantoko in Abeokuta on 18th March 2024.
The information available indicates that the tussle emanated between the leaders of NURTW and OGSPAM over collection of the union’s tickets for the government. The fracas resulted in gunshots and macheting eachother between the union members.
Meanwhile, police quickly surfaced at the locations of the scene to restore peace and protect the properties of the residents from the conflict.
