ONDO ELECTION: APC APPOINTS COMMITTEE HEADS FOR PRIMARIES
Ahead of the All Progressives Congress Ondo Governorship primary election, the party has appointed former Interim National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Tijjani Tumsa, to chair the screening exercise of aspirants, PUNCH reports.
Yekini Nabena, Party National Publicity Secretary, made this known in a statement titled, “Tumsa, Kareto Chairs APC Ondo Governorship Aspirants Screening, Appeal Committees,” in Abuja, on Tuesday, July 7.
The party also announced Alhaji Umar Lawan-Kareto as the Chairman of the Appeal Committee.
The statement read in part, “The Governor Mai Mala Buni-chaired Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress has appointed the Party’s former interim National Secretary, Alhaji Tijjani Musa Tumsa to chair the Party’s screening committee for Ondo State governorship aspirants.
“Alh. Umar Lawan-Kareto will chair the Screening Appeal committee.

“The Screening and Appeal committees will be inaugurated at the APC National Secretariat on Tuesday 7th July 2020 by 2 pm.”
The APC had fixed Ondo State Governorship Primary Election for July 20, 2020 ahead of the main election scheduled for October 10, 2020.
The screening of Ondo State aspirants will hold this Wednesday, July 8, 2020, while screening appeal (Ondo) holds on Friday July 10, 2020.
