PIRATES ABANDONED HIJACKED CARGO VESSEL, ESCAPES
Pirates have abandoned the cargo vessel that was attacked around 5 pm yesterday, escaping with only some of the ship’s equipment.
Eons Intelligence reported that the pirates attacked the cargo vessel in clearwater at 139nm Southwest of Brass.
All crew members aboard the ship are safe.
There has been an increase in pirate attacks in recent times. On Monday, the Nigeria Navy arrested ten pirates who reportedly attacked a Chinese Vessel on the coast of Cote de Viore on May 15.
Similarly, On April 30, a Panama-flagged product tanker was attacked in Nigerian waters by pirates in a speedboat, taking10 crew hostages.
