POLICE ARRESTS 56 ARMED ROBBERS, CULTISTS IN LAGOS
The Lagos state police have arrested 56 suspected armed robbers and cultists terrorising residents in the state.
Fifty of the suspects which include 38 male and 12 females, were arrested at Imota, Igbokuta, Adamo and Emure in Ikorodu during a sting operation carried out between Friday, March 5 to Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Some of the arrested suspects as disclosed by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson are: the wife of the number 1 of Aye Confraternity in Igbokuta identified as Gbamila Iyabo aged 26 who was arrested with one pump action loaded with 8 rounds of cartridges; the wife of the number 1 Aye Confraternity in Emure identified as 29-year-old Slaisu Islamiyat who was arrested with a locally made pistol with some live cartridges; A notorious cultist identified as Abiodun Abbey also known as Oju Ogunle, alleged to have killed more than 22 people in Ikorodu Area.
Other items recovered from them include guns, live ammunition and cartridges, assorted charms, berets with Confraternity logos, paraphernalia of office of Confraternity and some dangerous weapons.

Meanwhile, police operatives attached to Elemoro Division arrested 6 other suspected cultists at the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos state in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police on constant raids of the criminals’ hideouts in Eti Osa Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects arrested include Adeyemi Hassan,m, Adesoye Yusuf, m, Yusuf Sadiku, m, Isaila Adebanjo, m, an ex-convict and leader of Aye Confraternity, Mosuru Ojo, m, and Tajudeen Ramon, m.
