POLICE CONFIRM KIDNAP OF JOHNNY SUPERMARKET OWNER IN OWERRI
Imo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of John Ugorji, the owner of Johnny Supermarket at Ikenegbu in Owerri, Imo state while he was about to leave his business premises last Friday.
The command's spokesperson, Henry Okoye, who made this known to newsmen in Owerri on Sunday, explained that at the time the police got a distress call on the kidnap incident, it moved swiftly into action. But unfortunately, the hoodlums had already escaped with the victim before the arrival of police operatives. A vehicle suspected to be that of the victim was recovered and taken to the station.
The PPRO said the victim’s family is yet to make an official report to the Police. However, discreet investigations are ongoing for possible rescue of the kidnapped victim as well as the arrest of his kidnappers.
