POLICE DISCOVER INDIAN HEMP IN FCT, ARREST FARMER

The Federal Capital Police arrested one 37-year-old Thaddeus Joseph (Male) resident of Kadi Estate, for being in possession of a Commercial amount of leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa.


Available reports indicate that the arrest was made following solid information that the aforementioned suspect grows a sizable crop of leaves thought to be Cannabis sativa on a plot of property at Godab Estate in the Life camp Area of the FCT.


The team of the Command’s Intelligence Assets attached to the Anti-Narcotics Section sprang into action, caught the suspects, and as a result, the farm was discovered and the exhibits were Removed.


Upon the arrest, the suspect in a voluntary statement confessed to having been in the practice for about Two years. While the suspects and exhibits are being transferred for onward investigation/prosecution, the police investigation has been intensified to track down the chain of supply and other criminal affiliations to this suspected criminal enterprise.


Preparations for the forwarding of exhibits and a suspected drug dealer to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) are ongoing.
