POLICE FOIL GUNMEN ATTACK ON UMUTU POLICE STATION IN DELTA, KILL TWO

Eons Intelligence have gathered that security operatives attached to the Delta State Police Command on Friday foiled an attack from gunmen on the Umutu Police Station.

It was learnt gunmen invaded the police station around 1.30am on Friday morning, shooting sporadically at the facility. The attack was however resisted and disrupted by security personnel on duty.

The assailants, who engaged the policemen in a gun duel, backed off when they saw that the security operatives were not relenting. During the encounter, the police killed two of the attackers and inflicted severe injuries on others.

However, two of the security operatives lost their lives in the gun battle while another ASP died from High Blood Pressure in the hospital.

Recall, on May 26, Eons Intelligence reported that a policeman was killed as unknown gunmen attacked a routine police patrol team and set their van ablaze in Delta State.

The incident occurred at Otulu Junction, Akwukwu-Igbo, Aniocha North LGA of Delta. This comes 1 week after gunmen killed 3 officers in Aniocha South LGA.
