POLICE NAB 10 CONFRATERNITY MEMBERS OF EIYE CULT GROUP IN OGUN
The operatives of Ogun State Police Command have apprehended 10 members of the dreaded Eiye confraternity who have been terrorising Sagamu and its environs in recent times.
The information indicates that a group of cultists converged at different locations in Odogbolu to unleash terror in Sagamu in continuation of the supremacy battle going on amongst the various cult groups in Sagamu and its environs.
Following the information received, the anti-cultist team mobilized and moved to the area. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums attacked them with dangerous weapons but they were quelled by the police officers.
Consequently, one Superintendent of Police (SP), Morakinyo Adejumo, sustained injuries during the operation. He was rushed to the hospital, where he is responding to treatment.
The apprehended suspects are Adekoya Adesina, Ayinde Olumide, Tunde Banjo, Adebayo Jamiu, Ajayi Temitope, Taiwo Olatunji, Oladapo Ayeye, Gbenga Morufu, Johnson Adeyemi and Tunde Adenuga.
During the operation, eight live cartridges and a large quantity of weed suspected to be Cannabis sativa were recovered from them.
Meanwhile, The Command’s Commissioner, CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has ordered a massive manhunt for the remaining members of the group.
