POLICE RESCUE ABANDONED DAY OLD BABY IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday March 15 rescued one abandoned day old baby at Oladejo Street, Oko Oba area of the State.


In a statement by the State's Police PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the baby was found by a good resident of the State around 10.20pm. The PRO stated that the good Samaritan informed police personnel attached to the Abattoir Division of the command who quickly rushed to the scene and took the baby to the hospital for medical checks.


  

CP Hakeem Odumosu, the State's Police Commissioner, who received the baby in his Ikeja office, ordered the Gender Unit of the command to hand over the baby to the Child Protection Unit of the Ministry of Youth and 

Social Development of Lagos State.


Adejobi however noted that the Commissioner of Police has expressed his intention to discuss with the Ministry of Youth and Social Development on processes of adopting the baby as soon as possible.


CP Odumosu admonished young ladies to desist from such wicked act, which must be condemned by all and sundry in the country.
