SECURITY PERSONNEL RESCUE 10 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN ONDO
Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have rescued 10 of the 16 persons abducted by gunmen along the Akure/Owo Highway.
The victims, who are market women, were said to be travelling from Akure to Isua-Akoko in Akoko South East Local Government Area of the State for a meeting when the gunmen kidnapped them at a point close to Ayede-Ogbese.
The State's Police PRO, Tee Leo - Ikoro, confirmed the development on Saturday, November 7.
Ikoro noted that on receiving a distress call of the incident, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the command were mobilised and were able to rescue 10 of the victims.
The Police PRO stated that the Police are doing everything in their capacity to rescue the remaining 6 victims from the abductors.
He appealed to residents of the State not to panic, and assured them of adequate safety of their lives and property.
