Six people were killed and scores abducted in an attack by bandits in Pinau village, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The bandits stormed the community around 1500hrs, on Wednesday, July 27, and started shooting sporadically.
The spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in the state, major Ishaku Takwa, on confirming the development, said that troops were sent to the area.
The incident occurred five days after the residents of the Wase town raised the alarm over the withdrawal of soldiers from the area, a development that forced hundreds of occupants to flee their homes.
