SOLDIERS FOIL RANSOM PICKUP, KILL 2 BANDITS, RESCUE 4 HOSTAGES IN KADUNA
In a daring operation, operatives of the Nigerian Army have gunned down two bandits attempting to collect N1.5 million ransom for four abducted victims in Mai-Iddo village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The four hostages, comprising three females and a child, were kidnapped from a farm last week. The bandits' leader instructed two members to collect the ransom at a designated location. Unbeknownst to them, the troops had arranged with a relative of the hostages and a vigilante to set a trap.
As the bandits arrived to collect the ransom, the soldiers opened fire, killing the two instantly. The swift operation ensured the safe rescue of the hostages, who have since been reunited with their families.
This successful operation demonstrates the Nigerian military's commitment to combating banditry and ensuring public safety. Similar efforts have led to notable arrests, such as the apprehension of notorious female kidnapper Janet Igohia in Taraba State.
