THREE KILLED, NINE ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF NASARAWA APC CHAIRMAN

Men of the Nigerian Army have killed three persons connected with the murder of the Nasarawa State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Philip Shekwo.


The suspects were killed on Friday, November 27, by military operatives in the Loko area of the State while nine other suspects were arrested during the operation.


Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, made this known on Saturday, November 28, while hosting the national leadership of the Trade Union Congress Women Commission, who were on a courtesy call at the Government House, in Lafia, the State capital.

It would be recalled that Shekwo was kidnapped in his residence in Lafia, around 11 pm on Saturday, November 21.


The lifeless body of the APC chieftain was dumped few metres away from his residence in Lafia on Sunday, November 22, Eons Intelligence earlier reported.


Addressing his guests, the Governor said, “Three suspects, linked to the murder of the state APC chairman, were killed on Friday by military operatives in Loko, with nine other suspects also linked to the murder of the late Chief Shekwo arrested.”

He added that security operatives recovered four AK47 rifles from the suspects killed in Loko.


“The military is not taking it lightly with these criminals. We are facing a few security challenges in the state but the security agencies have not rested.


“If we have the resources, we will put all our resources to ensure that we protect the lives and property of our people,” he explained.
