Tinted Glass Permit: NPF Extends Grace Period Amid Ongoing Service Reviews

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced an extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to August 12, 2025, following widespread public feedback and ongoing reviews of the application process.

According to a statement issued by the Force Headquarters, the decision was approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to allow time for further enhancements and simplification of the permit application system. The move aims to ensure transparency, accessibility, and ease of use for all Nigerians.

The Force emphasized that it has taken public concerns seriously and is working to improve both physical and digital application procedures, including more efficient verification methods to minimize delays and eliminate undue stress for applicants.

Citizens are advised to apply or renew their permits through the official portal at www.possap.gov.ng and to report any extortion or unauthorized charges encountered during the process. Reports can be made through the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.

The NPF reaffirmed its commitment to public safety, digital innovation, and effective service delivery, thanking Nigerians for their patience and cooperation as reforms continue.
