 
											Troops Foil Kidnapping in Taraba, Rescue Victim Unharmed Under Operation Lafiya Nakowa
Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have rescued a kidnapped victim and apprehended a suspected abductor during a coordinated operation under Operation Lafiya Nakowa in Taraba State.
 
The operation, conducted on 29 October 2025, was part of ongoing efforts to flush out bandits and other criminal elements from the state. According to military authorities, the troops responded swiftly to a distress call from residents of Lau Local Government Area, reporting the abduction of Alhaji Ali Adamu, who was kidnapped while sleeping outside his compound.
Acting on the intelligence, the troops immediately launched a pursuit of the kidnappers. The criminals, sensing the advancing troops, abandoned the victim and fled into nearby bushes. The rescued victim was safely reunited with his family without any ransom paid.
 
In a related development, local vigilantes and hunters on patrol around Maraban Kunini apprehended a 30-year-old suspected kidnapper identified as Mr. Lalau Adamu, believed to be connected to the incident. Upon arrival at the scene, troops discovered that the suspect had sustained injuries from mob action. He was immediately evacuated under military protection to a medical facility for treatment, while further investigations are ongoing.
The Commander, 6 Brigade / Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the quick response and synergy between troops, vigilantes, and local hunters, which led to the successful rescue. He urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to strengthen the ongoing efforts at maintaining peace and stability across the state.
