Troops Neutralise Bandit, Rescue Kidnap Victim, Recover Arms in Plateau State

Troops of 3 Division Nigerian Army and Operation SAFE HAVEN have neutralised a suspected bandit, rescued a kidnapped victim, and recovered arms and ammunition during a successful ambush operation in Plateau State.

The operation, conducted on 2 July 2025 along the Kampani Zurak–Sabon Gari Road in Wase Local Government Area, followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspected bandits who had kidnapped a local resident.


During the encounter, troops intercepted the criminals transporting their victim on a motorcycle. One bandit was neutralised, while others fled into the surrounding bushes, abandoning the victim.

The rescued victim has been identified as 45-year-old Mr. Adamu Alhaji Nuhu. Troops also recovered a fabricated pistol, one pistol magazine, four rounds of 9mm ammunition, a Boxer motorcycle, and other items left behind by the fleeing criminals.


All recovered items are in the custody of security forces, while follow-up operations are ongoing to track down and apprehend the remaining suspects.


The Nigerian Army has reiterated its resolve to sustain aggressive operations against criminal elements in Plateau State and beyond, ensuring the safety and security of residents across the region.
