Troops Neutralize 120 Terrorists, Arrest 105 Suspects, Rescue 43 Hostages in One Week

The Defence Headquarters has announced significant achievements by troops across various operations in the past week, including the neutralization of 120 terrorists, the arrest of 105 suspects, and the rescue of 43 hostages.

According to a statement by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, troops of Operation HADIN KAI conducted air interdiction missions, eliminating 64 terrorists and apprehending 28 suspects.

In the North West, troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA carried out offensive operations that resulted in the elimination of 21 terrorists, the arrest of 24 suspects, and the rescue of five kidnapped hostages.

Similarly, in the North Central region, Operation SAFE HAVEN reported the arrest of 14 individuals, the rescue of 11 kidnapped hostages, and the recovery of three locally fabricated pistols, 23 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and five live cartridges.

Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE in the North Central region also arrested five violent extremists and rescued three hostages during offensive operations.

In the South-South region, Operation DELTA SAFE sustained its efforts against crude oil theft. Troops recovered 631,709 liters of stolen crude oil and destroyed 10 illegal crude oil cooking ovens.

These operations reflect the continued efforts of the military to counter insecurity, rescue hostages, and disrupt criminal activities across the country.
