TWO DIE, OTHERS INJURED AS BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION COLLAPSES IN OSUN
A storey building under construction has collapsed and killed two persons in Eweta community, Ikirun, the headquarters of Ifelodun LGA, Osun State.
The information available indicates that the building collapsed at about 19:00hrs on 11th October 2023 while workers were still working on site.
Subsequently, the residents around the area rushed to the construction site after hearing the loud noise of the collapsed building to quickly rescue the trapped victims. Thereupon, three females and the owner of the building were evacuated from the rubble and were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.
However, it was revealed that the owner of the building and another victim died on Thursday morning in the hospital due to severe injuries they sustained.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the incident, noting that the collapsed building was already used as a church.
