TWO REMAINING MEMBERS OF TEENAGE HIGHWAY ROBBERS TERRORIZING LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY ARRESTED IN LOKOJA


The Ogun state police says it has arrested the remaining two members of a teenage robbery gang that robbed a Mazda bus at the Alapako end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday, July 17.


Recall that Eons Intelligence reported that the police at Owode Egba division apprehended 3 Highway robbers who assaulted and robbed the passengers on a Mazda bus while commuting on the Lagos Ibadan expressway.


The thieves severely beat their victims with cutlasses and dispossessed them of N545,000 and an iTel phone.


According to the Ogun State Police Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the two suspects identified as Yinusa Isah and Ibrahim Muhammed were traced to Lokoja in Kogi state by CSP Tijani Muhammed led SARS who took over the case from the police at the Owode Egba division.


The two remaining suspects were apprehended on July 24 based on the useful statements provided by the three members arrested on July 17.

The police recovered three cutlasses, and wood crafted to look like a gun.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Edward A Ajogun has ordered that there must always be physical police presence on the highway 24 hours every day. He also ordered that the stretch of the expressway be combed to ensure that no criminals are lurking around.
