UPDATE: 18 ABDUCTED KANO TRADERS REGAIN FREEDOM

Eighteen Kano traders who were abducted last week Sunday while travelling to Aba in Abia State have regained their freedom.

Eons Intelligence reported on Thursday that gunmen abducted about 27 traders from the popular Kantin Kwari market in Kano who were travelling to Aba.

The President of the Arewa Youth Traders Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Babawo, on Sunday said 18 of the 27 kidnapped victims have regained their freedom.

Babawo, who said that the victims were released by their abductors on Saturday evening, revealed that a ransom was paid in exchange for the liberty of the traders.

Recall that Eons Intelligence reported that the abductors demanded a N27M ransom to set free the captives and the fellow traders in the Kantin Kwari market were making donations for the ransom.

“The 18 Kano traders who were among the 27 traders regained their freedom on Saturday evening. They slept in Kaduna and they are now on their way to Kano,” he said.
