US PRESIDENT-ELECT JOE BIDEN ANNOUNCE CORONAVIRUS TASKFORCE AS TRUMP REFUSES TO CONCEDE DEFEAT

The United States of America's President-elect Joe Biden has announced a Coronavirus task force to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, despite Trump's refusal to accept defeat at the polls.

On Monday, November 9, Joe Biden announced the leadership of the Coronavirus task force which he called the Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board as his first official move as President-elect.

The board led by Dr David Kessler, Dr Vivek Murthy, and Dr Marcella Nunez-Smith would be focused on confronting the COVID-19 pandemic which has so far claimed the lives of over 240,000 people in America.

“Dealing with the coronavirus pandemic is one of the most important battles our administration will face, and I will be informed by science and by experts,” Biden said in a statement. “The advisory board will help shape my approach to managing the surge in reported infections; ensuring vaccines are safe, effective, and distributed efficiently, equitably, and free; and protecting at-risk populations.”

Other members of the COVID 19 taskforce are Dr Luciana Borio, Dr Rick Bright, Dr Atul Gawande; Dr Celine Gounder; Dr Julie Morita; Dr Michael Osterholm, Dr Loyce Pace, Dr Robert Rodriguez; and Dr Eric Goosby.

President-elect Joe Biden denied the incumbent President Donald Trump a second term when he won majority votes in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Joe Biden has secured the 290 votes exceeding the 270 threshold needed to win the election.

Donald Trump who so far secured only 214 has refused to concede defeat sticking to unfounded claims of electoral fraud.
