(VIDEO) NIGERIAN VETERAN SOLDIERS PROTEST NON-PAYMENT OF 20 MONTHS PENSION ARREARS
Retired Nigerian soldiers are currently staging a protest in Abuja, the nation's capital over the Federal Government's non-payment of their pension arrears for 20 months.
The veterans, many who fought in Nigeria's civil war, are carrying placards and singing protest songs right in front of the Federal Ministry of Finance building.
Some of the inscriptions on the placards read:
"We have sacrificed our youthful years fighting for Nigeria, we should be celebrated.'
"When we remember the dead, we should also remember the living."
Some of the protestors told newsmen that they have been forced to protest so that the Government can stop deducting from their pensions.
