VP SHETTIMA ASSURES JUSTICE AND UNITY IN WAKE OF PLATEAU ATTACKS

In the aftermath of the recent brutal attacks on communities in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos local government areas of Plateau State, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima visited the crisis-ravaged areas to extend heartfelt condolences and assure justice for the victims.

During his visit, VP Shettima conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to ensuring that those affected receive justice and that residents can live in safety. Shettima vehemently stated, "We won’t rest until you access justice and until you are safe."

Expressing the President's deep concern, Shettima conveyed Tinubu's profound sorrow over the tragic incident, which has cast a shadow over the festive season. "The grief that binds us is a testament to our shared humanity, not differences," he emphasized.

Acknowledging the indescribable pain of burying entire families, Shettima empathized with the grieving communities, describing the loss as a "funeral for the entire nation." He reassured the affected families that the government stands with them and is resolute in its commitment to ensuring justice.

Addressing the nation's collective conscience, Shettima declared, "Your blood, your tears, and your cries stain our collective conscience. We are here for you, resolute in our commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators of these mindless killings face the full force of the law."

Amidst the pledge for justice, the Vice President urged the people of Plateau State to resist divisive rhetoric and sectional divisions. He emphasized that the government is dedicated to preventing the recurrence of such violence and restoring security to the affected regions.

"This violence persists due to the dangerous practice of treating criminals as ambassadors of their group. But this is not the case now. This is a promise," Shettima affirmed.

As the administration vows to uphold the sanctity of every citizen's life, the focus remains on collective safety, unity, and the healing of the nation. The government pledges to harness all resources to bring those responsible for the attacks to justice and prevent the continuation of such heinous acts under its watch.
