WE'LL COLLABORATE WITH N-HYPPADEC TO IMPROVE LIVING CONDITIONS OF OUR PEOPLE -GOVERNOR MUTFWANG
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has pledged to collaborate with the management of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) towards improving the living conditions of people in power-generating communities of the state.
He has also implored the Commission to be fair and just in its recruitment process to give all the states in their jurisdiction a sense of belonging.
Governor Mutfwang made the remarks while playing host to the Managing Director of
N-HYPPADEC and his management staff during a courtesy call at New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State.
''I appeal to all of you in the Commission to be committed to improving the lives of people in power-generating communities
''Also, continue to be fair in your recruitment and ensure every state benefits from that whenever you will do such exercise''
Governor Mutfwang commended the Commission for the numerous projects so far executed in the state, particularly in the power generation communities, and urged it to do more.
He promised that the State Government would partner with the Commission towards improving the well-being of the people in the benefiting communities.
The Governor urged the Commission to also look into the construction of dams to promote agricultural activities in the state.
''With the security challenges currently facing the state, we intend to promote all-round-season farming to promote food security in the state. We will construct dams that will provide water for irrigation farming,''
The Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa spoke earlier, commiserate with the people and government of Plateau over the current security challenges facing parts of the state.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of the Governor to do everything possible toward tackling the menace.
He solicited the support of the State Government in addressing the challenges of the power-generating communities in the state.
Top Government officials at the courtesy call included the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Alex Kundang, the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Rauta Dakok, Special Adviser on Legislative Affairs Hon Nuhu Abok and Chairman Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission Hon. Johnbul Shekarau among others.
