PIRATES ATTEMPT TO HIJACK VESSEL ON NIGERIA WATERS

Pirates on Wednesday attempted to attack a vessel on Nigeria waters at about 2 PM.

The attack, however, was unsuccessful as armed guards on board the ship showed a display of force and fired warning shots which made the pirates abort their mission.

Report says the security crew spotted two suspicious speedboats approaching the vessel while sailing at 85 nm Southwest of Brass in Nigeria and promptly took action.

The threat was successfully neutralized and all crew members are safe.

Eons Intelligence has reported a number of pirate activities on Nigerian waters. On November 7, it was reported that armed pirates made unsuccessful attempts to attack a tanker on Lagos waters.

However, crew members aboard Ghanaian flagged MV DELTA were not that lucky as pirates successfully hijacked the ship and kidnapped 5 crew members believed to Ghanaians.
