IGP WITHDRAWS SECURITY PERSONNEL ATTACHED TO IBRAHIM MAGU
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of policemen and all security operatives attached to Ibrahim Magu, the former Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The directive was contained in a memo addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General, Police Mobile Force Squadrons one to 79, the Force Secretary and Commissioners of Police of all the state commands and the Federal Capital Territory on Friday, July 10th, 2020.
The security operatives at Magu's private and official homes were also reportedly ordered to leave the residences in Abuja on Friday.
The withdrawn officers are mandated to report at the headquarters on Monday, July 13th, 2020.
Recall that on July 6th, 2020, Eons Intelligence reported that men of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Ibrahim Magu for money laundering.
On July 10th, 2020, President Buhari suspended Ibrahim Magu as the acting Chairman of the EFCC, and replaced him with the Director of Operations, Muhammad Umar.
