Troops Kill Notorious Terrorist Kingpin Alhaji Ma’oli in Zamfara State

Troops of the 1 Brigade in Sector 2 Joint Task Force, North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji, have eliminated a notorious terrorist leader, Alhaji Ma’oli, along with several of his accomplices in Zamfara State.

The operation, which occurred on Thursday in Mai Sheka village near Kunchin Kalgo town, targeted one of the communities heavily affected by Ma’oli's reign of terror.

In a statement on Friday, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Hadarin Daji, described Ma’oli as infamous for imposing illegal levies on residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other areas surrounding Bilbis in Tsafe Local Government Area.

"Ma’oli’s death has brought relief and excitement to the locals in the Bilbis general area," Abdullahi stated.

The operation was launched following credible intelligence reports about terrorists operating on motorcycles in the Bilbis axis. The troops swiftly responded, thwarting the terrorists' plans to attack local communities and demonstrating a reinforced commitment to securing the area.

“Operation Hadarin Daji remains resolute in its mandate to pursue and neutralize all remaining terrorists and their collaborators across the Joint Task Force Theatre of Operation,” Abdullahi affirmed.

He added that the Joint Task Force would continue working closely with local communities to achieve lasting peace and security in Zamfara State and its environs.

Zamfara State has long been plagued by terrorism and banditry, with countless deaths and abductions over the years. Security forces, alongside federal and state governments, have consistently vowed to eliminate the criminals threatening the region’s stability. This latest success marks another step in their ongoing efforts to restore peace.
