FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE, SENATOR IYIOLA OMISORE DEFECTS TO APC
Former Deputy Governor of Osun State and two-time Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Monday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eons Intelligence gathered that Omisore was at his polling unit in Ward 6, Moore, Ile-Ife, in the convoy of Osun State Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi, to pick the APC membership card.
On Sunday February 14, Akintifonbo Kayode, the Secretary, All Progressive Congress (APC), Ife Federal Constituency, issued a press statement that Omisore would be officially registered and admitted into the APC on Monday.
Senator Omisore served as Deputy State Governor of Osun State from 1999 to 2003 under Governor Adebisi Akande.
In 2014, he ran for Governor of Osun State under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) but lost to Rauf Aregbesola who was the incumbent Governor.
Also, in the 2018 Osun gubernatorial election, he contested under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) alongside Senator Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
