Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, have neutralised two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during a coordinated ambush operation in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The development was disclosed in a Special Situation Report released by Headquarters Sector 2, Operation HADIN KAI, under Operation Desert Sanity V.

According to military sources, the operation was carried out at about 4:00 p.m. on May 27 after security operatives received credible intelligence regarding the movement of suspected insurgents around Kasaicia village along the Damaturu–Buni Yadi axis.

Troops reportedly laid an ambush for the terrorists and engaged them during the operation, resulting in the neutralisation of two insurgents.

Security sources further revealed that two AK-47 rifles and empty magazines were recovered from the scene following the encounter.

The military added that troops remain on high alert within the area, while operational morale and combat readiness among personnel remain strong.
